Abducted Kohima businessman rescued

The PRO Kohima Police today informed that the abducted businessman Anil Choudhary who went missing on October 26 has been rescued.

An FIR was received In South Police Station on October 29 claiming that Anil was abducted on October 26 by unknown persons in Dimapur. “In this regard, a case was registered and during the preliminary investigation it could be ascertained that the victim proceeded to Dimapur on October 26 after being contacted by certain individuals from a Naga Political Group for settlement of a monetary issue originating from a close relative of the victim defaulting on a loaned amount and absconding thereafter,” stated the PRO, Kohima Police.

With the efforts of a combined team of South PS, Kohima personnel and Dimapur Police, the victim was rescued from Dimapur on November 2. Further, investigation is in progress, informed the Police.

Earlier, the Kohima Chamber of Commerce & Industry (K.C.C.I)had condemned the abduction and demanded the immediate release and safe return of the abductee, and had appealed to all civil organisations and public to extend its “support to the business community in its daily struggle with money mongers”.
