The Nagaland State Task Force Team on Vector Borne and Other Communicable Diseases held a meeting on 3rd November 2023 to review the activities undertaken to prevent dengue and to discuss measures to be adopted to tackle its rising cases in the state, DIPR informed.
Highlighting on the issues and experiences of high surge of dengue cases in Mon and Dimapur districts, V. Kezo, Commissioner & Secretary, Health & Family Welfare, urged all the stakeholder departments to brace up for the coming year and be much more proactive. He also reiterated that Mon district needs to undergo a very intensive awareness campaign for which he also requested all the allied departments to come forward and share their ideas and inputs as to how and in what manner we can contribute to the overall initiative of incurring the idle condition.
V. Kezo appealed all the stakeholder departments to coordinate and work out plan to go through a state of preparedness.
DIPR also said that Former State Programme Officer, National Vector Borne Disease Control Programme (NVBDCP), Dr Neisakho Kere gave a detailed presentation on dengue, district wise status of dengue cases, activities conducted and ongoing, and potential roles of various departments and agencies in tackling the rise of dengue cases, prevention, diagnosis and treatment.
The meeting was convened by V. Kezo, Commissioner & Secretary H&FW and was conducted at the Conference Hall, Health & Family Welfare Department. The meeting was attended by senior officers from DH&FW and representatives from allied Departments.
