Deputy Commissioner Kohima Kumar Ramnikant, IAS has issued a Traffic Advisory for vehicular movements on NH-29 on 7th December 2023 in view of the Tsütuo Kharu (Gate) Pulling ceremony to be organised by the Tsütuonuomia Khel Council (T-Khel) of Kohima Village.
“… all vehicular movements on the National Highway within the stretch from Merhulietsa-T. Khel Model Village will be restricted from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM on 7th December 2023 and diverted…” the advisory stated.
The diversions as directed by the DC are:
1. (a) Light Motor Vehicles (LMV) coming from/going to Dimapur to take the Jotsoma by-pass to New Minister’s Hill/ PR Hill route
(b) Vehicles proceeding towards Tseminyu, Wokha, Zunheboto, Mokokchung, etc to take the alternate route from Peducha to Ten (10) mile junction
2. Regional taxi parking at ISBT shall be temporarily shifted and operated from KMC Tata parking at Old Minister’s Hill (Jotsoma road) on the above-mentioned date and time
The Tsütuo Kharu (Gate) Pulling ceremony of the Tsütuonuomia Thinuo (T-Khel) of Kohima Village will take place on Thursday from Merhülietsa to Sethogei at 11:00 am.
The ceremony will be graced by Javier Paulinich, Ambassador of the Republic of Peru to India while Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio will be the Host and Tourism Minister Temjen Imna Along will be the Co-Host.
