Kiphire DC, DEO encourages voters to choose good government, good leader

Kiphire: Sethrichum from 59 A/C and Sitsamong Sangtam from 60 A/C awarded best BLOs

The 14th National Voters’ Day was organised in Kiphire on 25th January 2024 at the DPDB hall with the aim to spread awareness among general masses on the importance of election machinery and its process encouraging mass participation. The event was held under the theme- ‘Nothing like Voting, I Vote for Sure’.

Chief Guest on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner & DEO Kiphire John Tsulise Sangtam, in his address said, “It is our duty to vote. We celebrate Voters’ Day to ensure that every eligible voter cast their vote.” He also encouraged the electors to choose good government, good leader which starts from individual participation by voting. The DC further cautioned against fraud votes or any illegal interference while voting in days to come.

The speech was followed by the pledge taking. Encouraging the Booth Level Officers (BLOs), Sangtam assured that the best BLOs’ names would be recommended to the Election Commission in the days to come.

Felicitations were given to best BLO which included Sethrichum from 59 A/C of Hurung village polling Station, and Sitsamong Sangtam from 60 A/C of Kipungya ward Kiphire.

During the programme, special number was performed by Albert. Speech of the Chief Election Commissioner of India, Rajiv Kumar was displayed and a demonstration on EVM & VVPAT was also presented by election staff.

Earlier, the keynote address was given by D. Robin Additional Deputy Commissioner Kiphire. Senior Citizens representing all wards, and BLOs were present in the programme. The programmed was chaired by Chubamongla Kichu EAC & i/c AEO Kiphire.
