The monthly District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) meeting took place on February 19 at the DC’s Conference Hall in Kiphire, informed the DIPR. Chaired by MLA and Chairman DPDB Kiphire, C. Kipili Sangtam, the meeting addressed various crucial agendas.

The proposal for introducing a BSc (Science) stream at Zisaji Presidency College and the recognition of Tsungmulung village under Kiphire were approved for forwarding to higher authorities for consideration.
Upgradation of Yangphi Government High School and Registration of Alongti Welfare Society: Discussions on these matters were deferred to the next meeting due to the absence of a member to highlight the issues.

During discussions, attention was drawn to the poor road conditions within Kiphire town, emphasizing the need for improvement, which will be addressed under Urban Development. Members also shared insights regarding the upgradation of sports infrastructure.
A presentation was delivered by the Fishery Department during the session. The Land Resources Department and District Soil and Water Conservation Department have been requested to present their PowerPoint presentations in the upcoming DPDB meeting.
