NSCN/GPRN leader Th Muivah has expressed deep sorrow over the demise of veteran Naga national leader and president of the Naga National Council (NNC), Gen (Retd) Thinoselie M Keyho, who passed away on October 30, 2026, at the age of 96.

In a condolence message, Muivah described Keyho as a dear friend, lifelong comrade and true patriot, with whom he had shared decades of struggle in the Naga national movement.

Recalling their years together in the Naga National Council, Muivah said their bond was built not only on a common political cause but also on a deep sense of belonging, conviction and love for the Naga people. He said the years of hardship and sacrifice had forged a friendship that time could never erase.

Muivah said what touched him most was that even during his illness, Keyho remained concerned about the people and the future of the Naga nation. Recalling a recent telephone conversation, he said Keyho had encouraged him not to lose heart and to continue the struggle, emphasising that a settlement must ultimately be reached.

Describing Keyho as a proud son of Chedema village, Muivah said he had joined the Naga Army at a young age with an unwavering desire to serve the Naga nation. He said Keyho consistently stood for unity among the Nagas, believing that their strength lay in togetherness.

Muivah said the passing of another veteran comrade, after more than seven decades of shared revolutionary journey, marked the closing of another chapter in their collective struggle. He said Keyho’s contributions, convictions and faith in the Naga cause would remain unforgettable.

In a separate condolence message, the NSCN/GPRN (Yung Aung group) also mourned Keyho’s demise, describing him as a distinguished Naga revolutionary soldier and devoted patriot who dedicated 70 years of his life to the Naga national movement.

The organisation said Keyho belonged to a generation that carried the burden of the Naga struggle through some of its most difficult and uncertain periods, enduring immense hardships with courage, commitment and resilience.

It said that although Keyho was no longer physically present, his service, sacrifices and legacy would continue to inspire future generations. The organisation pledged to honour his lifelong contribution and carry forward his legacy.

The NSCN/GPRN (Yung Aung group) also extended condolences to his bereaved family, loved ones and the Naga people, and prayed for eternal peace for his soul.
