CM Rio calls Nagaland Budget 2024-25 ‘Real people centric’

Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio termed the State Budget for the year 2024-2025 as “real people centric”, marking a significant step towards welfare-centric governance.

Rio, said this while addressing media persons after presenting the Budget on the floor of the house, on the second day of the 4th Session to the 14th Nagaland Legislative Assembly in Kohima.

The Chief Minister also pointed out that the State has no own resources however, the state revenue has increased by some margin from GST. “We are a consumer society, so GST is benefiting us,” he added.

He also mentioned that 20 new initiatives have been taken up, all for the welfare of the people.

The budget, which prioritizes infrastructures development, investment promotion, entrepreneurship development, and local economic rejuvenation, also introduced a landmark welfare measure – the Chief Minister’s Universal Life Insurance Scheme to be fully funded by Nagaland Government.
