Kiphire DPDB meeting held discusses deplorable road conditions and upgradation of educational institutions

The District Planning and Development Board for March 2024 was held today at DPDB Hall Kiphire, with Chairman C.Kipili Sangtam chairing the meeting.

Deputy Commissioner and Vice Chairman DPDB Kiphire Temsuwati Longkumer, who attended the meeting for the first time after his posting, delivered a welcome address.

The Chairman, C.Kipili Sangtam, in his address, expressed his disappointment with the poor attendance of the HODs in the meeting. He said that strict action would be initiated by next meeting for the irregular officers.

He asked the HoDs to put forth a proposal for development in the district and asked them to reach out to him to voice their concerns. According to the Chairman, the meeting will take place after the 15th of every month by the next DPDB.

The Principal of Zisaji Presidency College Kiphire, pointed out the poor condition of the road leading to the college and requested the chairman to consider the issue. Replying to the request, the chairman of the DPDB asked the Urban Development Officer Kiphire to review the matter for an alternative arrangement.

Earlier the meeting begin with the reviewing of previous meeting minutes. Agendas, including the proposal for upgrading Government High School Yangphi to Higher Secondary and the proposal for building DBs Customary Court at Kiphire, were approved for forwarding to the government.

A PowerPoint presentation was presented by the Land Resource Department.
