Oriental College celebrates International Day of Happiness

Along with the rest of the world, the Oriental College Kohima celebrated the International Day of Happiness on March 20 at the Kohima Orphanage and Destitute Home.

A short programme was held where, the Principal Dr. Khriereizhiinuo Dziivichii Vasanth introduced the event and in her speech she mentioned that ‘the most happy people in the world are those who share their happiness with others’. Adding significance to the event, the college extended acts of benevolence to the Orphange and Destitute Home Kohima, informed a press release issued by the College Media team.

The students of Oriental College presented a song. The Principal was accompanied by the other teachers, Chaplain, Students Executives and Class representatives of all the semester.

The International Day of Happiness is celebrated throughout the world on March 20. It was established by the United Nations General Assembly on June 28, 2012.

The International Day of Happiness serves to underscore the importance of happiness in setting goals and aspirations for individuals, fostering a better quality of life, promoting sustainable development, achieving general prosperity, and combating poverty.
