The Kohima District Athletics Association (KDAA) will be organising Kids Athletics Day on 7th May 2024. This was informed by informed by General Secretary of the Association Leketoulie Liezietsu following a meeting on 20th April 2024 which was presided over by President Thepfungunyü Solo.

Liezietsu also informed that the event is being conducted as per the directive from Nagaland Athletics under the theme ‘World Mile Challenge’ with the objective to promote values of athletics and encourage participation among young people. The Kids Athletics Day also aims to inspire the next generation of athletes, coaches and officials. The focus of the event is also on physical activity, health and wellbeing of all ages and backgrounds.

KDAA has informed that the event will be held at Secretariat Junction in Kohima where there will be three categories viz. 4 to 7 years, 8 to 11 years & 12 to 14 years. The entry fee will be Rs 100.

The first three position holders in respective three categories will be awarded prizes and seven consolation prizes will be given to all the categories.
