Ayushmaan Bharat Diwas was organized and celebrated on 23 September at CMO Office, Zunheboto.
The event marked the celebration of the fourth anniversary of Ayushmaan Bharat Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY), a Government of India flagship health insurance scheme which aims to accelerate India’s progress towards Universal Health Coverage.
Rahul Bhanudas Mali, IAS, Deputy Commissioner Zunheboto, was invited as a special guest on the occasion. In his speech, Mali addressed the importance of the scheme by pointing out how poor people are dragged down economically through medical expenditures. Likewise, sensitization and availing benefits from the scheme is promptly required in the district focusing on the empanelment of remaining health care providers, the DC stated.
Dr Zathung, Lotha Chief Medical Officer, proposed the vote of thanks. The celebration was also attended by senior medical officers, medical officers of different blocks and sub-divisions, staff and special invitees.
Earlier the program was chaired by Rosemary Vitoli, District Program Manager (DPM) CMO office. The welcome address and keynote address on the scheme was delivered by Vibo P Jekha, District Coordinator AB-PMJAY, who highlighted the AB-PMJAY scheme, its key features, eligibility and quick district status.
The occasion holds some important awards like best PMAM (Pradhan Mantri Arogya Mitra) was given out to Ambe. Z from Satakha block for generating the highest number of AB-PMJAY ecards in the district. The awards for best performing Staff AB-PMJAY were conferred to Vibo P. Jekha District Coordinator for significantly contributed to the implementation of scheme in the district. A beneficiary testimonial was given by a citizen as well as a ward GB of Zunheboto district, who shared how he was benefited from the scheme, by successfully undergone gall bladder operation at the empaneled hospital.
