Ayushman Bharat Diwas was celebrated in District Hospital Kiphire on Friday.
Organised by the District Implementation Unit of Kiphire, the event marked the fourth anniversary of Ayushman Bharat-Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojna (AB-PMJAY) and also the one-year anniversary of Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM) coming up on 25 September.
Speaking at the event, special guest T Wati Aier, Deputy Commissioner, Kiphire, lauded the medical personnel for their noble deeds. Stating that medical professionals are noble doers, he appealed to them to continue their honest services.
Aier said the services of the health care workers impact the people and society at large, for which he called on the medical personnel to serve the community sincerely and wholeheartedly. He also conveyed appreciation and gratitude to all the doctors, nurses and staff for their tireless efforts rendered during the peak of the Covid pandemic.
Earlier, Dr Kolhitso Khalo, Deputy CMO, in his keynote address said AB PM-JAY is a people healthcare scheme that benefits the underprivileged and low income groups.
Under the scheme, a family will get a benefit of five lakhs in a year, Khalo said.
He explained the process of availing the benefits and the documents required, stating that after the registration one is entitled for free medical treatments in all the empanelled hospitals.
Yangkhumse, an Ayushman Bharat beneficiary, shared his experience on how he benefited from the scheme. He thanked the department and the government for introducing the AB PM-JAY scheme which has benefitted the poor like him. Yangkhumse encouraged others to avail the benefits too.
Venrity of Ayushman Mitra, under CHC Pungro, was given the award for generating the highest E-card in the district.
Yangtsapila, District Co-ordinator, AB-PMJAY, was awarded the best performing staff who has significantly contributed in the implementation of the scheme for Kiphire district.
