Thüvopisü Village Council resolves not to allow illegal construction under its jurisdiction

The Thüvopisü Village Council (TVC) has resolved that no illegal construction will be made under its jurisdiction and two weeks time will be given to the defaulters to dismantle all illegal construction with effect from April 28, 2024 within the village jurisdiction. Failing to comply, the Village has mentioned that the Youth Force shall dismantle those illegal constructions.

This was resolved during the Thüvopisü Village Council (TVC) coordination meeting held with all stake holders on April, 28 2024 at the Old Church Building, Thüvopisü Village under Phek. The decision was taken unanimously with the representation of Thüvopisümi citizens both within and beyond the Village, stated an update.

During the meeting, the House deliberated on the two lane road with paved shoulder from Chozuba to Phek (NH-702A) and adopted resolutions to adhere by the meeting minutes of the Deputy Commissioner issued on March 20, 2024, which had appealed to the Village Councils to restrain/prohibit construction of new structures within their jurisdiction as it is ikely to impede on the smooth passage of the Highway project.

The TVC meeting had also resolved to submit a representation to apprise the District Administration to take stringent action against illegal construction within ROW along the proposed NH 702A two lane construction. While they had also decided to apprise the District Administration to adequately compensate the effected landowners at the approved rate and in accordance to the land category under acquisition.

“If foul play or biasness on payment of land compensation is noticed or observed under its jurisdiction, the Village Council or the Local Monitoring Committee shall file a Writ Petition/Public Interest Litigation in the interest of the public,” warned the TVC in its resolution.

Furthermore, TVC also resolved to strengthen the hand of the District Administration and all other stakeholders in making of the proposed NH702A two lane construction and shall welcome the project work be started from Thüvopisümi Village jurisdiction.

According to the update, the coordination meeting had also resolved and constituted a Committee to monitor and coordinate with stakeholders on two lane construction known as Local Monitoring Committee (LMC) on two lane construction. The Committee will be headed by Nezosa Tetseo as Convenor; Vesathü Dozo as Co-Convenor; Kukhoto Venyo as Secretary. The other members of LMC included Tseibou Khesoh, Sekuo Tetseo, Sadar Chairman, President TSU, President TYA, Chairperson TWS, Colony Chairman, VDB Secretary, Church Advisor, Pastors, Head Deacon and Chairman, Thüvopisü Village Council as Ex Officio Member.
