Advisor of Civil Administration Works Division (CAWD) and Taxes, Kudecho Khamo, has called for immediate investigation into the low quality road construction in Chozuba Town, Phek district.
The issue was flagged on Saturday when a netizen posted photos of the newly black topped road with weed growing from cracks. On Monday new photos surfaced showing some individuals using blow torch connected to an LPG cylinder to kill the weed and patch the cracks.
In his letter to Phek district’s Chief Engineer, PWD (R & B) and Executive Engineer, PWD (R & B), Khamo said that it had come to know that “the road was done by compromising the quality and workmanship”. He mentioned that photos and videos were circulating through various social media platforms that has led to widespread condemnation of the department and the contractor concern.
