Peren Town Women Welfare Organisation holds 65th Annual Session Programme

Mokokchung: Educating one woman can lead to societal change: Asono Ndang

The Peren Town Women Welfare Organisation held its 65th Annual Session Program at PTWWO Hall, Peren, on Saturday.

Asono Ndang, former vice secretary of PTWWO, in her brief address, highlighted the significant role of women in society and their influence within the family. She stated that while men are considered the heads of families, women often bear the responsibilities. Ndang emphasized the role of women as educators, noting that educating one woman can lead to societal change. To be a responsible woman, one should possess patience, diligence, and vigilance, she added.

Ndang remarked that a faithful woman supports her husband’s leadership and contributes to her children’s prosperity. She also stressed the importance of guiding family members towards faith, referencing to 2 Timothy 1:5, and encouraged mothers and grandmothers to demonstrate their faith to their children and grandchildren. She urged women to rise up for the betterment of society.

Agwamlie, Treasurer of PTWWO, chaired the programme, Kaihumiu Advisor pronounced the invocation, while Pelingrangle, President of PTWWO, delivered the welcome address. A special number was presented by Bana Colony in charge Mary Insing and Alungle, Secretary of PTWWO, delivered the vote of thanks. The programme culminated with Irangpeule pronouncing the benediction.
