The Nagaland State Cooperative Bank Ltd. Opened its 23rd Branch at Shamakok complex PPC ward, in Longleng on May 29, with Deputy Commissioner Longleng, Dharam Raj, IAS as the special guest, informed DIPR.
Deputy Commissioner, Dharam Raj in his address said, Nagaland State Cooperative Bank is the people’s bank as its prime motive is to help the people financially and it is not for profit motive. He stated that it is only when there is financial inclusion, development will happen. The Deputy Commissioner said the bank will follow all the guidelines but have some flexibility, unlike other banks. He added Nagaland State Cooperative Bank will provide better services and loans with better interest and called upon the citizens to make best use of the opportunity.
In his keynote, General Manager Nagaland State Cooperative Bank, Jonah Sema, highlighted the various schemes and initiatives launched by the Bank. “The 23rd Branch Nagaland State Cooperative Bank, located at the heart of Longleng town, represents not just the structure but it represents hope for financial empowerment and progress for the vibrant community of Longleng town,” said Sema. He expressed his gratitude to all individuals who had worked tirelessly to make this dream a reality.

Short speeches were delivered by, Vice Chairman NStCB, H. Kashito Yepthomi; President, Phom People’s Council (PPC), Y.B. Angam Phom; President, Village Council Chairman & Village Development Board Association District Longleng, C. Ngampu Phom and Director, Hope Channel (NGO), Tiakala Amri.
The programme was chaired by Assistant General Manager, NStCB, Mhathung Khuvung. ARCS Longleng, Atongba delivered the vote of thanks. Dedicatory prayer was pronounced by Executive Secretary, Phom Baptist Christian Association (PBCA), N. Tialemba Phom.
