The NSCN K (YA) has today, in a press statement, strongly rejected the baseless and misguided political remarks by the expelled Angmai group recently published in the local media. “It is highly regrettable that such politically compromised individuals still has the courage to boldly talk about the Naga struggle when they had abandon their national commitment long time back. They are least qualified to talk about the Naga sovereignty and Naga nationalism let alone representing the revere Naga issue,” stated a press release by the MIP NSCN/GPRN
Expressing that it has have been patiently dealing with these individuals giving them ample time to realize their mistakes while equally cautious of our enemy’s due advantage of the situation, the NSCN/GPRN regretted that they have stubbornly stood their ground.
“If Angmai truly walks in the footsteps of our late Chairman S.S.Khaplang as he proudly claims, he could have avoided the present situation in the first place. We all affirm to walk in the legacy of the past Naga leaders including Baba Khaplang whose political vision is to free every Nagas from the yoke of our oppressors and not fight against each other,” stated the group.
While recognising Angmai’s long service to the nation and his potential and experience to elevate Baba’s legacy, the group remarked that his personal weakness and flaws has become a stumbling block in his national service. “His present venture into the unknown completely negates Baba’s revolutionary principles because division and fratricide is never Baba’s dream. Today he has chosen a wrong place, a wrong time and a wrong group of people to reinstate his political career,” stated the group.
“President Mr.Yung Aung has always maintained that he does not harbour any personal grudge against Mr.Angmai, Mr.Nyeiton, Mr.Langnyei nor anyone else. The differences are solely political due to which they have been expelled by the party. These differences if remained uncheck on time, could have colossal negative impact for the People’s struggle,” it added.
The statement also reminded that right after the death of its Chairman Baba Khaplang in 2017 some NSCN members deviated from the main course and openly connived to accept any arrangement under the Nationwide Ceasefire Agreement (NCA) of Myanmar. This ignited a huge disagreement within the NSCN/GPRN leading to the expulsion of some senior members including Angmai .
“It must also be noted that, due to Nagas’ unique political condition, the NSCN/GPRN never align itself with any of the Ethnic Armed Organisations (EAOS) of Myanmar because of the huge contrast in our political ideologies. The EAOs aimed for greater autonomy and stronger federal Union within Myanmar while NSCN/GPRN fights to reclaim the inherent sovereign birthright of the Nagas from the oppressive occupation of both India and Myanmar,” stated the group.

The group expressed that It want the Nagas to understand that “we have entered into the most critical stage of our struggle and we must not take anything for granted. We must adapt and move along with the ever changing world politics. We need to observe and study the geo-political changes taking place all around us”.
“Revolution is not about plain words but a harsh reality. It’s about truth, determination and true sacrifice. For Nagas, this is our moment to keep going forward and not a time to sit back and enjoy. Our struggle is not to beg for peace and development, nor it is a win-win or survival game – but for complete freedom,” asserted the group
Considering the Peace talk as simply a political tactic to delay the sovereign demand of the Nagas, the group reminded that none of the past talks and agreements have brought peace and stability among Nagas but more hatred, disunity and division.
“Further, India has succeeded in dividing the Pro-talk Naga groups one after another and managed to hoodwinked these surrogate groups into submission. Today these groups have fallen down never to rise again and their days are over. Propagandas, back-biting and division are now their only political agendas. The Naga people are the key witness to who is who in the on-going political movement. They will decide who are the real nationalists and who are the imposters. Truth must never be intimidated by falsehood. NSCN/GPRN will continue to speak and fight for the Truth because Truth is our strength. To be silent is to betray all those Nagas who sacrificed and have gone before us and all those yet to follow,” asserted the group.
The NSCN K (YA) has reiterated its position that NSCN/GPRN’s standing principle is full SOVEREIGNTY – nothing more nothing less, and it will stand by this to the very end.
“We are prepared to face the worst and the harder our hardship the nearer we move towards out awaited goal. The NSCN/GPRN will never enter into a Peace-talk with either India or Myanmar unless on the topic of Sovereignty. Sovereignty will be our only solution,” it added.
