Kohima Fire Station (North) conducts Fire Safety and Evacuation Drill

Kohima: Live demonstrations on managing LPG fires, effective methods to handle such emergencies without panic

A Fire Safety and Evacuation Drill was successfully conducted at Christ King Higher Secondary School (CKHSS), Kohima, by the Kohima Fire Station (North) on 30th May 2024. The exercise was led by Kevikietuo Kire, Sub-Inspector aimed to educate students and staff on crucial fire safety measures.

Kire delivered an informative lecture on fire preventive measures and the importance of installing fire protection systems in schools. The session covered various types of fire extinguishers, their operation, and handling techniques.

The drill was conducted by: Sub-Inspector Kevikietuo Kire, Driver Thekrusalie, Fireman Ajatuo, Fireman Khosato, Fireman Vikuobeilie and Fireman Medongulie.

The drill saw active participation from both students and teachers, fostering an interactive learning environment. Approximately 200 students and 15 teachers attended the event, engaging with the fire safety team through questions and hands-on activities.

The fire safety team’s efforts were met with enthusiastic participation, highlighting the importance of preparedness and proper response in fire-related emergencies. The school administration expressed gratitude to the Kohima Fire Station for their invaluable training, emphasising the critical need for such initiatives to ensure the safety and well-being of the school community.
