Narendra Modi takes oath as Prime Minister for third straight term

Narendra Modi has taken the oath as the Prime Minister of India for the third consecutive time at Rashtrapati Bhavan on 9th June 2024. The President Droupadi Murmu administered the oath.

73 years old Modi is the only other leader to hold the Office of the Prime Minister for three successive times after Jawaharlal Nehru.

Along with Modi, several took oath as Union Ministers in the new NDA Government. These include Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, JP Nadda, Nitin Gadkari, Nirmala Sitharaman, Dr S Jaishankar, Shivraj Singh Chauhan, HD Kumaraswamy, Manohar Lal Khattar, Piyush Goyal, Dharmendra Pradhan, Jitan Ram Manjhi, Rajiv Ranjan Singh, Sarbananda Sonowal, Lalan Singh, Dr Virendra Kumar, Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu, Prahlad Joshi, Giriraj Simgh, Ashwini Vaishnaw, Jyotiraditya Scindia, Bhupendra Yadav, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Kiren Rijiju, Mansukh Mandaviya, Hardeep Singh Puri, Mansukh Mandaviya, G. Kishan Reddy, Chirag Paswan, Rao Inderjit Singh, Jitendra Singh, Arjun Ram Meghwal, Ramdas Athawale, Ramnath Thakur, Nityanand Rai, Anupriya Patel, etc.

The special invitees of the ceremony were leaders of India’s neighbourhood countries including President of Sri Lanka Ranil Wickremesinghe; President of Maldives, Dr. Mohamed Muizzu; Vice-President of Seychelles, Ahmed Afif; Prime Minister of Bangladesh, Sheikh Hasina; Prime Minister of Mauritius, Pravind Kumar Jugnauth; Prime Minister of Nepal, Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’; and Prime Minister of Bhutan, Tshering Tobgay.

The ceremony was attended by a large number of people from political party leaders to business persons and Bollywood stars.

Bihar Chief Minister and Janata Dal (United) chief Nitish Kumar and Telegu Desam Party’s leader and soon to be Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh got first row seats to the ceremony.
