Dr. Tinojongshi Chang, NCS, Deputy Commissioner Dimapur, administered the Oath of Affirmation in accordance with Section 60 A of the Nagaland Municipal Act, 2023 to the 11 newly elected members of the East Dimapur Town Council on Thursday at the Conference Hall of the Deputy Commissioner’s Office in Dimapur, informed DIPR.
Dr. Chang congratulated the newly elected members/councillors on behalf of the Dimapur district administration and termed the day as historic noting that the election was held after a gap of 20 years with 33% reservation for women for the first time. He expressed the administration’s eagerness to work with the councillors in the days to come.

The ceremony saw a total of eleven councillors from the East Dimapur Town Council taking the Oath of Affirmation namely;
Ward 1: Lireni Ovung (NDPP)
Ward 2: Niuto Awomi (NDPP)
Ward 3: Kanato Sema (IND)
Ward 4: Manna Zhimo (NDPP)
Ward 5: K. Hokuto Murumi (NDPP)
Ward 6: Vicky Achumi (IND)
Ward 7: Olotoli A. Yeptho (NDPP)
Ward 8: Razuo Dozo (NDPP)
Ward 9: Alemla Tovi (NDPP)
Ward 10: Krishna Mech (NDPP)
Ward 11: Mughavi Swu (BJP)
The oath-taking ceremony was attended by Hekani Jakhalu, Advisor for Industries & Commerce, ADC, Dimapur, Mhalo Humtsoe and other officials.
