A one-day Summer Camp was organised for children’s homes Tuensang by the Child Welfare Committee (CWC), Tuensang under the theme “We are Family” on 5th July 2024 at Town Hall, Tuensang.
R. Yimkhong, the Chairman of CWC, in his key note address, extended gratitude to Bethel Children Home and Kohdi Children Home as both are doing the best for the welfare of the children. He said that the objective of the Summer Camp was to encourage children in Homes to socialize and interact with each other and also to provide a platform to share their views and their issues.
Dr. Youngphula, member of CWC, appreciated both the children homes led by superintendents and staff and lauded them for dedicating their lives to look after the kids as their own and to give them bright future. She shared that God has chosen the dedicated staff to look after the children. Dr Youngphula also said that government officials too visit the homes to make the children feel loved and cared for and to remind them that they are not alone in this world.
She encouraged the children to put God first in their lives, stating that if they do so, they will not feel the need to compare themselves with other children who are studying in different places or have parents. Dr Youngphula advised them to be humble and obedient and stay away from wicked habits.
Further, she told the kids that if they truly believe that they are children of God and remain resolute that they will become somebody in life, people will see them differently.
