The Rising Peoples Party (RPP) has advised the agitating teachers to stop talking with the bureaucrats in the Department of School Education and continue to stand their ground till the state cabinet takes a positive decision.

The RPP is of the view that the ongoing ANATG agitation can only be resolved “politically”, adding that only the intervention of the Chief Minister himself can resolve the issue.

“From day one, the political leadership should have addressed the issue, led by the Advisor of School Education himself but it’s disheartening that despite the serious nature of the agitation our leaders are yet to respond to the teachers’ plight,” stated the RPP.

The political party stated it is “inhuman” of the state politicians to remain silent when day after day teachers are being hospitalized including one lady teacher in serious condition, and posed the question: “Who shall be responsible if any untoward incident happens?”

The RPP reminded the NDPP-BJP Coalition partners to get their priorities right and stop their “whispering campaigns” against each other over the issue for petty political mileage. “If at all the NDPP or the BJP were really serious, these two parties would have come out openly in support of the teachers by now and got the job done,”

Further, the RPP said it is obvious the NDPP-BJP leaders are treating the teachers as political pawns and added that it is fed-up of their disgusting game of one-upmanship.

To this, the RPP questioned the kind of coalition government where both the partners are trying to bring pull down each other’s pants over the literally suffering bodies of teachers.

RPP further stated that the only conclusion it can draw from this episode is that the NDPP-BJP leaders are “sick humans” without any “moral qualms and ethics.”

The party reminded the teachers not to fall prey to any commitments whatsoever short of regularisation.
