Assam Rifles, Nagaland Police organize ‘Tiranga Path Yatra’ with 150m long National Flag in Dimapur

Dimapur: Yatra aimed to celebrate spirit of freedom and unity among the citizens of Dimapur

The Assam Rifles, under the aegis of HQ IGAR(N), in collaboration with the Nagaland Police, organized a Tiranga Path Yatra in Dimapur on 14th August 2024 as part of Har Ghar Tiranga campaign on the eve of the India’s 78th Independence Day.

Featuring a massive 150 meter-long National Flag, participants carried it along with smaller flags throughout the route, which covered key locations such as Railway Station, City Tower, Khermahal, Chakhesang Colony, Hongkong Market.

The rally was flagged off from Police Headquarters, Dimapur, by Commissioner of Police, Dimapur, and Commandant Assam Rifles along with more than 30 officers of Assam Rifles and Nagaland Police and culminated at Super Market.

The yatra was aimed to celebrate the spirit of freedom and unity among the citizens of Dimapur while spreading awareness about the importance of the National Flag, inspiring and encouraging citizens to hoist the Tricolour to mark the 78th year of Independence.

The event saw enthusiastic participation of approximately 1800 people, including troops from Assam Rifles, Nagaland Police, NCC Cadets & students from Dimapur Government College, Vidya Bhawan Higher Secondary School, No 1 Air Squadron NCC, students of Railway high school and the vibrant citizens of Dimapur, all united in their celebration of the 78th year of Independence.

The civil administration, students, and teachers expressed their appreciation for the efforts of Assam Rifles and Nagaland Police in organizing such event that invoke a sense of patriotism and pride.
