Anti-Dengue awareness campaign held at MGM College

Dimapur: Resource person emphasizes importance of community involvement to curb disease’s transmission

The Health and Sanitation Committee of MGM College, Dimapur organised an Anti-Dengue Awareness campaign on 20th August 2024 in the college campus under the theme ‘Fight the Bite, Beat Dengue’. The College informed that the event included a seminar and poster-making competition.

The resource person for the seminar was Sangeeta Kumari, the Convener of the Health and Sanitation Committee. She highlighted the causes, effects, and preventive measures necessary to combat the spread of Dengue fever. Her insightful presentation emphasized the importance of community involvement in adopting preventive measures to curb the disease’s transmission.

The poster-making competition saw enthusiastic participation from the student community. The creative expressions and messages depicted in the posters reflected the students’ understanding and commitment to raising awareness about Dengue prevention.

Cash prizes were awarded to Piwoto V. Aye of the 1st semester, who secured the 1st position, and Manzen P. Konyak of the 1st semester, who secured the 2nd position, in recognition of their outstanding contributions.

The seminar and competition were well-received and served as a crucial step in promoting health awareness and proactive measures against Dengue fever within the college community.
