5th Brillante Piano Festival 2024 to be held in Bengaluru

Kohima: Brillante seeks to represent Nagaland rich culture and music through musical performances, says Khyochano TCK

The 5th edition of the Brillante Piano Festival, the only multi-genre piano festival in the world, will be held at the renowned Prestige Srihari Khoday Center for Performing Arts in Bengaluru, Karnataka on 28th and 29th September 2024.

This announcement was made today by Vikhietuonuo Rutsa, PR Head, Brillante Piano Festival during a press conference at the Kohima Press Club office. She also informed that this year’s festival promises to be a spectacular celebration of music, featuring participants from 18 countries and 16 Indian states, showcasing its global and diverse character.

Rutsa added that “This lively event is poised to draw music enthusiasts and aspiring pianists from around the world, marking a significant opportunity for cultural exchange and artistic expression in Bengaluru, Karnataka.”

Additionally, it was informed that the Chief Minister of Meghalaya, Conrad K. Sangma, will perform as the chief patron of the Specially Abled Musicians (SAM) program, Brillante’s initiation to celebrate the spirit and talent of musicians with special needs.

Khyochano TCK, Founder and Director, Brillante Piano Festival Nagaland, mentioned that the event, which started in Kohima in 2017, is embarking on a new journey with greater exposure and a larger platform by moving to Bangalore. She emphasized that Brillante is dedicated to awakening possibilities and transforming lives, making a community impact from individuals and families to the broader community and nation through the powerful influence of music.

The Director affirmed Brillante’s strong commitment to its mission of enhancing the community and the world through the gift of music bestowed by God, aiming to empower, facilitate and build bridges, break down barriers, and celebrate the universal language of music. This festival exemplifies the power of unity through music, she added.

Further, Khyochano highlighted that Nagaland is renowned for its rich culture and music, and they seek to represent both through their musical performances. Additionally, she mentioned their collaboration with local industries and commerce to support local entrepreneurs in showcasing their products.

Furthermore, she noted that Brillante is the only multi-genre festival in the world, where the events extend beyond musical experiences to include creative and cultural engagement. The festival also serves as a platform to provide opportunities for specially abled individuals. She highlighted that the events at the 5th edition of the Brillante Piano Festival will include competitions, workshops, exhibition, Brilliante talks, lectures and talk, piano competition, concert and street piano.

The representation from 18 countries includes Netherlands, Republic of Korea, France, Australia, Latvia, Thailand, Nepal, Canada, USA, Budapest, India, Russia, Scotland, Japan, Bhutan, Congo, UK and Spain.

The representation from the 16 Indian States includes Maharashtra, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, Chandigarh, West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Punjab, Delhi, Assam, Haryana, Telangana, Nagaland, Kerala and Goa.

The representation from Nagaland includes Ülikhrie Folk Group – 12, Brillante organizers – 15, Students – 21, Specially Abled Musicians (SAM) Participants – 4.

The Notable VIPs confirmed for the Festival are: Chief Minister of Meghalaya, Conrad K. Sangma; Deputy Chief Minister of Karnataka, DK Sivakumar; Abu Metha – Advisor to CM & Chairman of IDAN; Ambassador Nirupama Menon Rao; Temjen Imna Along – Minister of Higher Education & Tourism; Rustom Vakil – Honorary Chancellor, Honorary Consulate; Anthony Gomes – Head of Furtados; Sachin Das – Head of Trinity College London, Musee Musical; Jose Thomas – Head of Choice Group; Corliegh Robert Stixrud – Principal Kodaikanal International School; and.
