Tening Mini Hornbill Festival organisers meet

Tening (Peren): A meeting was held to deliberate on the forthcoming Chaga Gadi festival and the Langsimngyi Cum Mini Hornbill festival in Tening at the end of the month

The Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Tokai V Sumi of Tening chaired a meeting with the Heads of Offices under Tening Sub-division and Liangmai Council and its working committee at his office. The meeting was held to deliberate on the forthcoming Chaga Gadi festival and the Langsimngyi Cum Mini Hornbill Festival which is to be held on 30 and 31 October.

Sumi informed the members that the organising committee of the Mini Hornbill festival will be headed by the Deputy Comissioner of the district.

After an in-depth discussion, the organizing committee members unanimously approved the work distribution for all the government departments.

PWD departments were assigned to repair roads starting from zero point till Tening Town Hall, the power department to provide facilities and provision street lighting from high school junction till festival venue, the police to maintain law and order during the festival period, IPR for media coverage and sound system, and PHE for temporary water supply connections.

The departments of agriculture, horticulture, art & culture and bank were entrusted with the construction of stalls. Whereas Committee of local Arrangement (COLA) will be responsible for sanitation and waste disposal.

The house also discussed the need to provide quality accommodation to tourists and VIPs. In this regard, the members decided to approach various church council guest houses, school buildings, hostels, and other guest houses.

The members also decided to request Chief Medical Officer (CMO) to provide medical facility for the medical camp.
