Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio met with Union Minister of State for Law & Justice (Independent Charge) and Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs, Arjun Ram Meghwal on 23 October 2024in Kohima. The Union Minister is on a two-day visit to the State.
The Chief Minister in a post on X, stated that during the meeting, he “reiterated the need for release of funds for completion of the long-pending New High Court Complex”. Hopeful for a favourable response from the Ministry to have an efficient justice delivery system in the State, he added.
Posting on X, Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal said that the central government’s schemes and various development projects were discussed during the meeting with Rio. “During this, various aspects related to judicial and law reforms in the state were also discussed,” he added.
Later, the Union Minister inspected the New High Court Complex in Kohima which has been under construction since its foundation stone was laid in 2007.
In another post on X, Meghwal stated that the new High Court Complex is “not only modern and convenient but also a symbol of commitment of speedy justice.”
