Randeep Batta, 57 from Chandigarh, donated blood at Naga Hospital, Kohima on 24th October 2024 as part of his initiative ‘Mission Kashmir to Kanyakumari’ that aims to inspire youth to recognize the benefits of blood donation for both themselves and those receiving the blood.
Emphasising that blood donation saves lives and there is no distinction in its importance based on caste, religion, or colour, Batta says that he has donated his blood 166 times since his first in 1981 and plans to continue until he is 65.
Batta said that he might not be rich but his heart is full as he goes around the country sharing his stories and experiences.
His mission began in 2016 during a trip to Srinagar when he committed to ‘Mission Kashmir to Kanyakumari.’ By then, he had already made to over 100 donations, traveling by car, train, and later by air to reach hospitals and camps. He has received recognition from governors and chief ministers of various states.
Batta encouraged the people of Nagaland, aged 18 to 65, to donate blood for their own health and to assist those in need.
