The monthly Dimapur District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) meeting took place on October 28, at the DC Conference Hall, chaired by Deputy Commissioner Dr. Tinojongshi Chang, NCS. Chang welcomed Advisor for Industries & Commerce, Hekani Jakhalu, along with new members Kevichutuo Sekhose, AGM NST, N. Vineikholie, DSO & DYRSO, and NihotoAwomi, Chairman of Town Council East Dimapur.
The meeting reviewed dismantling the overhead water reservoir at Industrial Village, Razhaphe. The board, decided that they will follow the Executive Engineer’s recommendation for repair and renovation of the reservoir. The board discussed the issues of illegal settlements around the reservoir area and assured that the district administration will look into the matter.
On establishment of the FOYA College in Dimapur, the board directed the proprietor of the college to obtain a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from Higher Education and to submit the matter in the next DPDB meeting.
Following agendas were discussed by the board, approval for the transfer of ownership, change of name and relocation of Saku’s Mission College, Dimapur. Upgradation of Wotsa Fine Arts College was discussed and the board directed the proprietor of the college to submit NOC from Nagaland University/Higher Education for recommendation to the state government for approval.
The board recommended the following New Society Registrations for approval to the state government, Nagaland E-Sports Foundation, Landmark Colony and Dimapur Blessed Bonding, Duncan Dimapur.
The board directed the Tennis Ball Cricket Association of Nagaland, Dimapur to obtain an NOC from its parent association for recommendation and approval for registration from the state government.
The board also discussed on the Nagaland Special Development Zone (NSDZ) for Dimapur district and forwarded it to the state government for necessary action. ADC, Zakabo V. Rotokha announced the Departmental Sports Meet which is to be held after a three-year gap starting from 20th – 22nd November 2024, with smaller departments permitted to join forces.

The Department of Public Health Engineering (PHE) and Food & Civil Supplies—presented PowerPoint updates on their recent activities, progress, and departmental achievements in the district.
Advisor Jakhalu introduced new schemes under Industries & Commerce, including RAMP, UNNATI, and MSME schemes. She explained that these initiatives are aimed at strengthening the MSME sector and fostering development in the state. She encouraged officials to prioritize transparency, public engagement and proactive outreach especially in Dimapur, a vital commercial centre for the state. Jakhalu emphasized the importance of setting an example of dedication and integrity in public service, particularly about educating communities on issues like land management and sanitation to ensure Dimapur’s continued growth.
DC, Dr. Tinojonshi Chang noted that the Agriculture and Horticulture departments would give a PowerPoint presentation at the next DPDB meeting and advised societies seeking registration to secure all necessary documents before the DPDB sessions.
He also highlighted the upcoming 75th Anniversary celebration of Naga Council set for 2nd November 2024 and urged all departments to prepare for the event.
