The Naga Council Dimapur proudly commemorated a historic milestone, Celebrating 75 Years of Naga Unity. This monumental occasion was marked by the presence of Special Guest, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Nagaland, Neiphiu Rio, who unveiled the Unity Monolith at the Naga Council Mhalie Market Complex, followed by the inauguration of the Sky-Bridge Prayer Tower at the hallowed grounds of the Old Naga Cemetery, Lake View Colony.
The Hon’ble Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio, performed the ceremonial flag hoisting at the stadium. Hon’ble MLA & Advisor for Tribal Affairs and Election, H. Tovihoto Ayemi, and Hon’ble MLA & Advisor for Labour, Employment & Skill Development, and Excise, Moatoshi Longkumer, graced the occasion as Guests of Honour. The event is attended by dignitaries, delegates from tribal unions and hohos, and well-wishers.
On the occasion, CM Rio hailed NCD as “a pillar that brings our communities together, and upholds the value of unity; an essential foundation for a thriving society”. He highlighted that the since its inception, the NCD has inclusive representation of all Naga communities, 16 tribes from Nagaland and 4 from Manipur: Tangkhul, Poumai, Mao, & Anal, bearing true to its motto: “All in One”. The Chief Minister encouraged the NCD to continue fostering this spirit and to instill it across all sections of our society.
He also asserted that the State Government is making every effort to alleviate the challenges faced by the common people, despite limited resources and urged” all civil society organizations to come forward with positive ideas and initiatives so that we can collectively improve our community’s living conditions.”
Further, the Chief Minister urged the Council to continue leading by example, fostering a positive outlook for a better future. Let us renew our commitment to unity, peace, and progress.
