The Special Task Force (STF), including members from the district administration, DPRO’s office, Kohima Municipal Council (KMC), Police personnel and Dobashis, carried out a thorough field inspection in Kohima to enforce the ongoing Single-Use Plastic (SUP) ban on 8th November 2024.

During the inspection, several shops were found in violation of the SUP ban by stocking and using single-use plastics. In response, the STF seized a significant quantity of SUP items and imposed fines on the non-compliant shops. This decisive action marks the first in a series of anticipated intensive inspections by the STF, which aims to rigorously enforce the SUP ban across Kohima.

Businesses and residents alike have been urged to adhere to the ban for a cleaner and more sustainable Kohima.
