Activist and Advocate Kezhokhoto Savi passes away

Ardent anti-corruption and consumer activist Advocate Kezhokhoto Savi passed away today at Bethel Hospital Kohima following a prolonged illness.

With a law degree from Delhi University and a practising attorney, Savi was serving as an Assistant Professor at Kohima Law College. He also served as the President of Nagaland Voluntary Consumers’ Organisation (NVCO); Convenor, ACAUT Nagaland Legal Cell; Vice-President of the Nagaland Bar Association and President of Kohima Rotary Club.

A standing figure against corruption, Savi was of one among the few who boldly spoke against  systemic corruption in Nagaland and raised the importance of collective action in the fight against corruption.

He is survived by his wife and four children.

His mortal remains will be taken from his residence in Chandmari, Kohima, on December 14 December 2024 at 9:00 AM to Jakhama Village for the funeral service, which will be held at 12:00 noon at Ze-Naki Ground, Jakhama.
