The 31st edition of the KongroKong Youth Perfect Poll & Musical Night was held on the evening of 2 January 2025 at ISVT, Khensa Village. The second session of the event was graced by Sangyumongba Kichu, Councillor-elect of Yimyu Ward, Mokokchung Town.
Sangyumongba Kichu, in his address, commended the KongroKong Youth for organizing a remarkable program, which is held every year on January 2. He expressed his hope that many talents and skills have been nurtured since the initial editions and encouraged the continuation of these efforts, aiming for greater achievements and possibilities. He urged the gathering and the organizing committee to work harder in discovering and showcasing the talents of the younger generation, nurturing them to their fullest potential with a vision to elevate this event to a district-level platform.
Kichu emphasized the importance of sincerity and hard work, pointing out that programs are often held, but participants tend to disperse and forget everything soon after. He stressed that such an attitude needs to change to ensure the success and impact of the event.
In his welcome address, Moayanger, President of KongroKong Youth, expressed gratitude to attendees who had traveled from far and near. He acknowledged the contributions of the KongroKong Youth officials, who formed a committee to elevate the Perfect Poll initiative. He thanked committee members for their efforts in terms of financial support, physical labor, and wisdom. Moayanger also extended his appreciation to the guest artists and performers for their time and presence.
Walumeren and Tiasangla was crowned Mr Perfect and Miss Perfect for the 31st edition during the KongroKong Youth Perfect Poll & Musical Night.
Waisangba, Chairman of KongroKong Colony, delivered a brief exhortation. He commended the ISBT department for the space and the organizing committee for their efforts in making the event possible. He emphasized the importance of the youth’s commitment to education and community activities throughout the year, including Christmas and New Year programs. Waisangba encouraged the colony members to approach the new year with patience, endurance, and understanding, while acknowledging the dual blessings and challenges of being part of both Yimyu Ward and Khensa Village. He also expressed gratitude to mothers and community members for their prayers and support.
The second session, titled “Extravaganza,” offered a captivating lineup of performances and engaging activities, showcasing the talents of various artists and fostering community bonding. Nokchanaro hosted this session, which featured performances by Lenen Jamir, Adang and Friends, Temsu Tzüdir, Stupid Longkumer, Meyipshishi II, Tiatemsu, Liomeren, Putunaro, Longtsadi, Sano Pangersenla, Opangsenla, Moarenba, Arizongla, Nochet, and Moaonen and various other local artists.
Temsulong, Convenor of the organizing committee, explained that the Youth Perfect Poll was initiated to honor the most outstanding individuals among the youth, recognizing their talents and contributions to society. He clarified that the selection of Mr. Perfect and Ms. Perfect is based on secret polls conducted during the youth feast day on December 31, with the winners crowned annually on January 2.
The program commenced with the first session, anchored by Katikokla, and featured various activities. Nukshiyangla delivered the invocation, followed by a Bible reading by Elongshi. The first session concluded with a benediction by Longriyangdang.
