Empowering Education through ICT: A Collaborative Workshop by IQAC and DITC at Baptist College Kohima

The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Baptist College Kohima, in collaboration with the Directorate of Information Technology & Communication (DITC), Nagaland, organized a workshop on “Empowering Education: Integrating ICT Tools for Effective Teaching and Learning” on February 1, 2025. The College informed in a press release that the one-day workshop was conducted for both its teaching and non-teaching staff.

Dr. Kewepfuzu Lohe, Principal of Baptist College, Kohima, welcomed the participants, emphasizing ICT’s transformative impact on education. Dr. Sentinaro, IQAC Coordinator, highlighted the importance of using Information Communication Technology (ICT) tools to engage technologically-savvy students and bridge gaps between fast and slow learners. The inaugural session was chaired by Süvilü Venuh, Assistant Coordinator of IQAC.

The first session and second session for the teaching staff was conducted by Er. Yanger Longkumer, Program Officer, DITC. He focused on the introduction to ICT in education, exploring flexible teaching methods and personalized learning using ICT platforms. The second session was moderated by Kevizhalhou Medom, Convenor of the ICT Committee, BCK. The resource person provided hands-on training with ICT tools like Mentimeter, Chipchamp, and Scholar GPT, demonstrating their effectiveness in tracking student performance and facilitating interactive learning.

The workshop continued with two sessions specifically tailored for administrative staff. In Session I, moderated by Kevikrüta Vielie (Technical & IT Advisory Committee, BCK), Er. Lungdsuo Mozhui, Consultant at SeMT, NeGD, presented an overview of ICT in administrative work, focusing on communication, automation tools, and ICT integration challenges. The session concluded with an interactive Q&A, offering practical insights into ICT applications in administration.

Session II, led by Er. Longchendi Longchar, Web Security & Development, IT&C, and moderated by Edwin Thapa (Computer Assistant, BCK), provided practical training on task and data management. Participants learned about tools for task management, Pro-Gmail features, and cybersecurity tips, enhancing their efficiency and data management skills.

The workshop concluded with closing remarks by Dr. Kewepfuzu Lohe, Principal of BCK and Narola Chuba, Vice-Principal, BCK.
