To promote national integration and foster cultural exchange, the Assam Rifles Battalion in Kohima conducted a grand flag-off ceremony for a National Integration Tour today. The event was presided over by IGAR(N) , who served as the chief guest .
The tour, scheduled from February 4 to February 18, 2025, will provide a transformative experience for 16 students and 4 teachers, who will be accompanied by one officer and four personnel from Assam Rifles, Kohima. The participants will visit iconic historical sites and national monuments in Mumbai, Pune, and Goa, offering them an opportunity to explore India’s diverse cultural heritage while fostering unity and patriotism.
During the tour, the group will engage in various enriching activities, including visits to prominent landmarks, interactions with esteemed dignitaries such as the GOC Southern Command and the Governor of Goa and participation in cultural exchange programs. These interactions aim to nurture mutual understanding, instill a sense of national pride and encourage the students to become ambassadors of unity and harmony.

Speaking at the event, IGAR(N) underscored the critical role of the youth in shaping the nation’s future and emphasized the importance of initiatives like the National Integration Tour in fostering a cohesive and inclusive society. He commended Assam Rifles’ continued efforts to empower the younger generation through such meaningful programs.
The flag-off ceremony was attended by enthusiastic students, their proud parents and the Commandant of 13 Assam Rifles. Parents expressed their heartfelt gratitude to Assam Rifles for creating this invaluable opportunity for their children, praising the initiative’s focus on broadening the participants’ horizons and instilling a sense of national pride.
