In a disturbing incident, a minor girl was allegedly sexually assaulted by an employee of GHSS Sungro where the victim had recently enrolled in Class 6.
The incident came to light on February 3, 2025, when the accused perpetrated the alleged crime.
The accused is a 52 year-old resident of Pangti Village and working as a 4th Grade employee in the school. It is informed that the accused is currently under Wokha Police custody on charges of sexually abusing a 13-year-old girl on several occasions.

Upon learning of the incident, the victim’s family immediately lodged an FIR, leading to the registration of an FIR at Sungro Police Station. Law enforcement authorities have since initiated an investigation into the matter.
The victim is currently receiving medical treatment, and her condition is being closely monitored.
Vitoshe K. Sumi, Additional SP of Wokha, informed that the culprit has been taken into police custody. According to the FIR, the incident came to light on February 3, following which the FIR was filed. Based on the FIR, the accused was apprehended and is currently in custody. As per legal formalities, the case has been registered, and the investigation is underway.
