The Governor of Nagaland La Ganesan graced the Flagging In Ceremony of the National Integration Tour at Kohima Garrison Assam Rifles on 18th February 2025. The Tour was organised by the 13 Assam Rifles under the esteemed aegis of HQ IGAR North, PRO Raj Bhavan, Kohima informed in a press release.
Speaking at the event, the Governor expressed his delight to know that the initiative, which commenced on 4th February, took 16 enthusiastic students and 4 dedicated teachers from various colleges in Kohima to cities of Mumbai, Pune and also the beautiful landscapes and the beaches of Goa. It is truly heart warming to see the glimpses of their experiences and hear about the profound impact this tour has had on their lives, the Governor said.

Noting that India is a land of unparalleled beauty, rich traditions and diverse cultures, La Ganesan emphasized the importance of understanding and appreciating each other’s differences while celebrating our shared values.
These experiences have not only broadened your horizons but also instilled in you a deep sense of pride and appreciation for our nation’s rich heritage and vibrant present, the Governor said.
He extended his gratitude to the Assam Rifles for their commitment to promoting national integration and for organising this tour with such dedication and stated that the efforts put in to nurture the spirit of unity among the youths are commendable and deserve appreciation. The Governor remarked that the Assam Rifles have, time and again, demonstrated their dedication to the service of our nation, and this initiative is yet another testament to their commitment towards their duty.
The Governor encouraged more students and teachers to join such initiatives in the future, as these tours are not just about travel but about building bridges, forging friendships and nurturing a sense of national pride and unity. It is through such initiatives that we can truly understand and appreciate the diversity that defines our nation and work towards a future where harmony and understanding prevail.
The Governor further appealed all to strive and be ambassadors of peace, unity and integration, and work towards building a nation that is united in its diversity.
