AICC Secretary in charge of Nagaland, Christopher Tilak, along with NPCC and DCC Kohima officials arrived in Phek in continuation of the ongoing statewide inter district tour program, the Communications Department, NPCC informed in a press release. The team had earlier visited Dimapur, Peren, Wokha and Mokokchung.

Speaking at an interactive program, Tilak stated that Congress has faced many challenges but has survived for over 100 years, and remarked that coming out victorious during the last General Elections in Nagaland despite being in the opposition for more than two decades was possible because of Congress’ enduring legacy of progressive and inclusive actions. He also underscored the importance of promoting the right narrative, one rooted in the absolute denouncement of the BJP’s divisive ideology.

Tilak concluded by rueing the state of utter corruption existing in Nagaland today and stated that the Congress party was the only alternative capable of dismantling this pervasive culture of decadence and ineptitude engineered and championed by the government of the day.

Addressing the gathering, S. Supongmeren Jamir, MP and PCC President, stressed the importance of finding solutions and not just raising issues. He also remarked that the way to 2028 for the Congress party would be tough, but fruitful, because he felt that the electorate has seen through the lies and failures of the current government and would vote for change this time around.

Khriedi Theunuo, Working President of NPCC, highlighted the importance of strengthening the party organisation in order to project the much needed alternative to the electorate of the state, adding that the ongoing tour was a step in that direction and was aimed at identifying and empowering capable leaders at all levels of the Party structure with added emphasis on the grassroots level.
