Naik A Levi Magh (Retd) from the 164 Infantry Battalion (Territorial Army) NAGA was awarded the Veterans Achiever’s Award by the General Upendra Dwivedi, Chief of Army Staff, at Eastern Command at Kolkata on 20 February 2025.
Naik A Levi Magh (Retd) was honoured for taken on the noble mission of inspiring and preparing the youth to join Indian Armed Forces, resulting in a number of unemployed youth joining the Indian Army as soldiers. His tireless efforts in spreading awareness and in training ESM has been instrumental in resettlement of many veterans in various capacities both in Govt & Private Sector, the Indian Army stated.
It added that Nk A Levi Magh (Retd) was an asset and a role model to the organisation during his service in the Army due to his unending devotion to duty coupled with creativity in every tasks that he performed. He stands as a beacon of hope and resilience even after retirement as he dedicated his post-service life in helping retired personnel and unemployed youth.
Further, Nk A Levi Magh (Retd) played a tremendous role when the monthly pension of all the Army pensioners was stopped due to non submission of digital life certificate when SPARSH was introduced in 2021. Drawing on the extensive experience and knowledge he gained in the Army, he helped the pensioners to submit their digital life certificate in some of the remotest and far flung areas of the state, despite facing significant challenges and operating with limited resources, thereby ensuring continuity of pension of retired personnel.
He has dedicated his post-service life in uplifting society, particularly the retired personnel, who often find themselves grappling for re-settlement and lack of direction. His tireless efforts have been instrumental in re-settlement of retired personnel in various capacities both at Government & private sector.
Nk A Levi Magh (Retd) selfless efforts have not only improved the social and financial standing of underprivileged section of society but have also strengthened the bond between civilians and the Indian Army. His relentless dedication has instilled a sense of pride and purpose in his community, ensuring that the values of service and discipline continues to inspire future generation
