New Administrative Block inaugurated at Nagaland University, SAS Medziphema Campus

Nagaland University inaugurated its new Administrative Block at School of Agricultural Sciences (SAS), Medziphema Campus on February 24, 2025 in a formal ceremony attended by dignitaries, faculties and staffs. The event was graced by Prof. Jagadish K. Patnaik, Vice-Chancellor of Nagaland University as the Chief Guest and chaired by Prof. Akali Sema, Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Medziphema Campus. The programme commenced with a dedication prayer by Mr. Mhasibikho Chüsi, Pastor, BCMV followed by the unfurling of the NU flag and singing of the University Anthem.

A highlight of the ceremony was the unveiling of the plaque and ribbon-cutting by the Chief Guest, marking the official opening of the new Administrative Block. The attendees were given a tour of the newly-established facility, which aims to enhance the university’s administrative efficiency and support services.

In his address, Prof. Patnaik emphasized the university’s commitment to advancing agricultural education and research in the region. He highlighted the role of modern infrastructure in fostering academic excellence and administrative efficiency. He urged the faculty and research staff to engage in high-quality research work that contributes meaningfully to the field of agriculture and allied sciences. He also reaffirmed his commitment to further infrastructure development within the university, recognizing its vital role in fostering academic excellence and innovation.

Reports and observations on the development were presented by officials from the Development Authority Nagaland (DAN) and Merijan, Junior engineer, Nagaland University, SAS. The event also featured a special performance by the Administration Staff, coordinated by Dr. Anthony V. Richa, Deputy Registrar, NU, SAS.The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Prof. L. Daiho, Dean, NU, SAS, followed by the National Anthem, photography session, and lunch. The inauguration of this new facility marks a significant milestone in the university’s on-going efforts to enhance institutional infrastructure and create an enabling environment for academic and administrative growth.
