22nd NSF MMT: Unity FC and Shillong Lajong to face off today; FIFA FC and Ura Uvie FC head to the semi-finals

On Friday, FIFA FC and Ura Uvie FC progressed to the semi-finals by winning their respective matches at the ongoing 22nd NSF Martyr’s Memorial Trophy at IG Stadium.

Unity FC, Meriema and Shillong Lajong FC also won their respective matches in the round of 16 to progress to the quarter-finals.

The two teams will face each other at the quarter-finals today at 6:30pm.

Unit FC Meriema vs Viswemi FC

Unity FC, Meriema booked their slot in the quarter-finals by winning 3-0 over Viswemi FC.

The first goal in favour of Unity FC came from Kenei Viluo (jersey no 11) in the 55th minute. In the 57th minute, Asekho (jersey no 10) netted another goal.

The third goal in favour of Unity FC came from Asezo (jersey no 6) in the 90th minute.

The Man of the Match was awarded to Kenei Viluo from Unity FC Meriema. The award was presented by Kevilebi Zashumo, Technical Director 22nd NSF MMT and Proprietor Sports Paradise, Kohima.

Shillong Lajong FC vs Pochury Students Union

In the pre-quarter match between Shillong Lajong FC and Pochury Students Union (PSU), Lajong overpowered PSU 8-0.

Gladdy (jersey no 8) netted two goals in the 19th and 37th minute.

Chanmitre (jersey no 9), Wadajied (jersey no 11), Everbright Son (jersey no 20), Samuel Vanlalpeka (jersey no 25), Atlan Kharman (jersey no 14) and Henry Ford (jersey no 3) added to the score sheet in the 30th, 34th, 72nd 76th, 78th and 80th minute.

Atlan Kharmaw was awarded the Man of the Match. Keneido Peseyie, Asst Director SIB, Government of Nagaland present the award.

Head Hunters FC vs FIFA FC

In the first quarter-final match of the tournament, FIFA FC beat Head Hunters FC 2-1 to advance to the semi-finals.

In the head-to-head match, the first goal was scored by Pursunep of Headhunters FC (jersey no 15) in the 10th minute.

The equalizer goal came from Ronald Saikhom through a spot kick in the 52nd minute.

In the 70th minute, Ronald Saikhom netted the winning goal for FIFA FC.

The Man of the Match was awarded to Jayananda Moirangthem Singh. The award was presented by Kuolie Mere, PRO Nagaland House, New Delhi.

Ura Uvie FC vs Vapfümei Gaziphema FC, Manipur

In the second quarter-final match, Ura Uvie FC secured itself a place into the semi-finals by defeating Vapfümei Gaziphema FC, Manipur 4-0.

Shürhosel Zhotso (jersey no 10) of Ura Uvie netted two goals in the 1st and 42nd minute.

Kevisanyü Peseyie (jersey no 10) also added two goals to the score sheet in the 42nd and 92nd minute.

The Man of the Match was awarded to Hekato Aye of Ura Uvie FC. The award was presented by Dievi Yano, former ASU President.

Match schedule for Saturday, 22 October (Quarter Finals):

  • 3rd Quarter Final: New Market FC vs Red Scars FC. Time: 4pm.
  • 4th Quarter Final: Unity FC, Meriema vs Shillong Lajong FC. Time: 6:30pm.
