The NSCN-IM has refuted the statement made by Zhalipu of Nagaland Gaon Bura Federation (NGBF) that NSCN Chairman Q. Tuccu and Deputy Ato Kilonser General Atem had given their consent on the common drafting out of the Framework Agreement and Agreed Position into a single agreement.
The NSCN-IM noted that General Atem had met with the NGBF on the issue on 4 February 2025. However, no official commitment was made. “NGBF were only told that the matter would be discussed by NSCN and decision would be taken accordingly if the need arise”, it stated.
Rejecting, Zhalipu’s claim as a “blatant lie”, the NSCN-IM said that the statement “tantamount to be charged for breach of faith and malicious damage to NSCN’s political standing that strongly advocated for principle-based solution to Naga political solution.”
In a separate press statement, the group has accused the Government of India of implementing “divisive tactics through instigation and conspiring” with some pro-India “Non-political Naga ruling elites” and its “own employees” such as the NGBF.
“NSCN/GPRN has never ever given her blessing nor endorsed to GB Federation, Nagaland to initiate consultative meeting with Nagaland apex tribal bodies on forging a common platform to finding any solution apart from FA,” the NSCN-IM stated. Further, it cautioned that such “misadventure” would seriously jeopardize the Indo-Naga political peace dialogue between the GoI and the NSCN and would have serious negative ramification.
