Assam Rifles Flags Off National Integration Tour (NIT) from Kohima to Dehradun

The 10-day tour is being conducted by Kohima Battalion of Assam Rifles.

In a bit to create more opportunities and exposures for children, Brig Herjinder Singh, Commander 5 Sector Assam Rifles flagged off the National Integration Tour (NIT) from Kohima Battalion of Assam Rifles

The Tour is being conducted by Kohima Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ 5 Sector AR/ HQ IGAR (North)/DG AR.

During his address, Brig Herjinder Singh highlighted that the project was conceived by Director General Assam Rifles, Lt Gen P C Nair, AVSM, YSM and being executed under the supervision of Maj Gen Vikas Lakhera, SM, IG AR (North). He exhorted the participants to make the most of this opportunity and learn from this unique experience as also to identify opportunities and facilities available in other parts of the country to achieve their aspirations.

A total of twenty students and four teachers from four schools in Kohima are participating in the tour.

Pelee Hekha, Managing Director, Modern Higher Secondary School, Kohima and Gipson Basumatry (father of one of the participants) also addressed the gathering and expressed their happiness about the noble and unique concept of the Tour.

The Parents expressed elation during the event and look forward to hearing the rich experiences of their children, once they return.

In the 10-day educational tour the Students & Teachers will be taken to Indian Military Academy (IMA) Dehradun, Rashtriya Indian Military College (RIMC) Dehradun, Forest Research Institute (FRI), Dehradun, National War Memorial, New Delhi and various other places of interest and repute.

A total twenty students and four teachers from Christ King Higher Secondary School, Modern Higher Secondary School, Little Flower Higher Secondary School and Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, all from Kohima are participating in this tour and the NIT is being led by Major Nitin Singh Bisht of 1 Assam Rifles.
