The Basketball Association Mokokchung District (BAMD), under the aegis of the Nagaland Basketball Association, will be organizing the first-ever Mokokchung Inter School

Basketball Tournament 2025. The tournament is scheduled to take place from July 10 to 12, 2025, at Mokokchung, according to a press release issued by the association.

While earlier inter-school basketball tournaments in the district were organized by Queen Mary Higher Secondary School, this will be the first time that BAMD is taking the lead in organizing such an event.

The tournament will be held under the theme “Forging Future”, reflecting BAMD’s commitment to nurturing young talents and fostering the growth of basketball at the grassroots level, the press release stated.

The competition will be open to all High Schools and Higher Secondary Schools across Mokokchung District, including institutions from Mokokchung Town, villages, subdivisions, and other parts of the district. Interested schools have been invited and encouraged to register and participate in the tournament.

According to the release, the tournament seeks to provide a platform for young students to showcase their basketball skills and talents, while also promoting healthy competition, sportsmanship, discipline, teamwork, leadership, and personal growth. It also aims to foster unity and friendships among students from various parts of the district.

In an effort to assist participating schools, BAMD has also offered coaching support by providing mentors upon request, who will guide and help in preparing teams for the tournament. Lodging facilities will be arranged by the organizers for the participating teams, while schools have been requested to make their own arrangements for food during the tournament period.

communicated to the participating schools in due course. For any queries and registration, interested schools have been requested to contact the Basketball Association Mokokchung District (BAMD), the release added.

BAMD expressed hope for enthusiastic participation from schools and the support of the community in making the maiden tournament a grand success.
