The Minority Department of the Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) has condemned the reported physical assault of its Vice-Chairman in connection with a land dispute, while clarifying that it has no involvement in or position on the ownership dispute.

In a statement, the department said its concern was strictly limited to the reported assault and maintained that violence and intimidation could not be justified under any circumstances.

The department urged the District Administration and law enforcement authorities to conduct an investigation into the reported incident and take appropriate action against those found responsible.

It also appealed to all parties involved in the land dispute to exercise restraint, maintain peace and refrain from taking the law into their own hands.

The Minority Department clarified that its condemnation of the reported assault should not be interpreted as support for either side in the land dispute, stating that it remained neutral on the question of land ownership.

It called upon the District Administration to ensure a fair and transparent investigation, saying both the reported assault and the underlying land dispute should be addressed through appropriate legal and administrative processes.

The department reiterated its opposition to all forms of violence and appealed for peaceful resolution of the matter.
