The Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) Mokokchung region formally installed its new office bearers for the 2024–2027 tenure on July 3 at the Sangtemla Ward Multi-purpose Hall.
The installation and oath-taking ceremony was led by N Bendang Jamir, Working President NDPP Nagaland, who read out the list of newly appointed members across the region office, Women Organization, Youth Organization, and Agri & Allied Organization. He also administered the oath of office to the new team.
MLA and Advisor for Law & Justice and Land Revenue, TN Mannen attended the program and delivered the keynote address. Acknowledging the efforts of former party leaders, Mannen emphasized unity within the party and urged members to avoid internal divisions. He noted the privilege of being part of the state’s largest ruling party under the leadership of Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio and NDPP President Chingwang Konyak.
However, he also reminded the gathering not to overlook the importance of maintaining cooperation with alliance partners, especially in the context of an opposition-less government.
Mannen stressed the need to be mentally prepared for upcoming political challenges, adding that the leadership’s maturity would be key to navigating change. He called for a strategic focus on the youth, describing them as a vital asset for the party’s future, and encouraged the new team to adopt fresh approaches to strengthen the party at the grassroots level.
Earlier in the program, Mangyangnungba, President of NDPP Mokokchung Region, delivered the presidential address. Chairperson of Mokokchung Municipal Council, Imkongchuba, also gave an exhortation.
Acceptance speeches were presented by the presidents of the respective frontal organizations. The newly installed office bearers include: Repameren—Region President; Margaret—Women Organization President; M Akok Longkumer—Youth Organization President; and Repamangyang—Agri & Allied Organization President.
