GPK students visit Nagaland University

The Dean, School of Engineering and Technology along with the faculty hosted the Fresher students of Government Polytechnic Kohima (GPK) on July 30 numbering 90. They were accompanied by three faculty members as part of their Student Induction Programme.

The students interacted with the Dean and faculty learning about the various courses being offered at the School of Engineering and Technology, Nagaland University, Kohima Campus, Meriema.

Highlights were given of the five branches of Engineering for B. Tech degree, namely, Agricultural Engineering and Technology, Biotechnology, Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, and Information Technology.

Presently, M.Tech and PhD programmes are offered by the Department of Agricultural Engineering and Technology and Information Technology. The Department of Biotechnology offers M.Sc and PhD programmes.

They were informed that students can join B.Tech course on completion of their Diploma as a lateral Entry student and pursue further degrees such as M.Sc, M.Tech, and PhD.

The students also visited the laboratories in all the five Departments and were introduced to the state-of-the-art facilities.
