Oriental College Kohima observes 28th Freshers’ Day

Oriental College Kohima observed their 28th Freshers’ Day at the college auditorium. Mhalezolie Kire, Vice Chairman, Management Board exhorted the students to seize every opportunity for their holistic growth.

In his address, he encouraged all members of the institution to nurture a friendly and vibrant atmosphere while upholding the rich legacy of the college. He further emphasized the importance of balanced digital usage, cautioning against the excessive use of electronic devices due to its potential health implications, and urged students not to let it hinder their academic excellence.

On this occasion, the college also warmly inducted their new Principal Dr. Watinaro Longkumer. In her induction speech, she expressed her eagerness to contribute positively to the college.

Velotsuh and Khuloi Shiu was judged the Mr. and Miss Fresher respectively.

The formal programme was chaired by Meguozolie Pienyü, Gen. Sec., OCKSU. Invocation was pronounced by Aboli Chikhe, Assistant Professor, Department of History and the welcome address was delivered by Dr Kevizakielie Suokhrie, VP (Academics). A special prayer for the Freshers was pronounced by Lhouvizhü Sachü, Sr. Pastor, CRC. Special performances were witnessed from students of BA 3rd and 5th Semester.

Speech on behalf of the seniors and freshers were delivered by Vituozo Rio and Kevinuo Kulnu respectively. The vote of thanks was expressed by Külüthilü Rhakho, BA 5th Semester. The comperes for the informal session were Kevizo Miasalhou and Kezhaneinuo Kruse of BA 3rd Semester.
