Governments of Nagaland and Assam undertook a joint eviction drive to remove illegal immigrants from the Disputed Area Belt (DAB).
An official communiqué issued by the office of the Chief Secretary, Nagaland stated that following the eviction, plantation activities carried out in the area by Assam led to tensions in the border region.
To address the matter, the Chief Ministers of Nagaland and Assam held discussions and agreed that henceforth, all activities in the DAB, including plantation, will be undertaken jointly by the two states.
This joint decision reflects the commitment of both governments to maintaining peace and cooperation in the border areas.
