The Sümi Totimi Hoho has strongly condemned the alleged attempted to rape and murder commited by Hekugha Chophy of Tsütoho village, a member of NSCM (IM) faction, against the victim who served as the prayer house keeper at Kizari village.
The Incident happened on September 24, where the perpetrator attempted to “ravish and brutalize her, subjecting her to severe physical and emotional trauma causing immense pain and distress”.

The Hoho expressed solidarity with the survivor, acknowledging her courage and resilience in the face of unimaginable trauma. “It is essential to recognize that such crimes are not a violation of individual rights but also a symptom of deeper societal issues that perpetuate violence and discrimination,” stated the Hoho.
It urged the higher authorities to”take immediate action and exhort everyone to join them in condemning the heinous crime. The Hoho also called for working towards creating a society that values dignity, respect and safety for all.
“Together, we can strive towards a future where such crimes are not repeated,” it expressed.
